Visit York Tourism Partnership

Since the 1st April 2008 a new, single tourism organisation for the city, Visit York, has been in operation to strengthen and develop the promotion of tourism in York and build on the achievements of the past few years.

Visit York sees the City Council, York Hospitality Association and York Tourism Bureau join together to work with businesses, Yorkshire Forward and Yorkshire Tourist Board.

The company’s activities are focused on the concerns of visitors, businesses and stakeholders. Covering such areas as marketing and promotion of the city as a visitor destination, development of the quality of York’s product offer, improved market research, better visitor information service provision, training and skills projects, and better communication with businesses and stakeholders – all the while growing the scale of private and public sector investment in tourism activity.

Visit York is not just a membership organisation but works with all businesses in different ways. Our overall aim is to grow the value of tourism by 5% annually and improve the quality of the visitor experience.
