Research
The Yorkshire Dales and Harrogate Tourism Partnership undertakes a range of research primarily based around assessing the successfulness of individual marketing publications and determining the characteristics of visitors to the area.
Conversion Research
Conversion Research is undertaken annually and aims to determine the amount of revenue generated by the Holiday Guide as part of national advertising campaigns, whilst also providing an ideal opportunity to question visitors about recent trips to the area and gain an understanding of their key characteristics and interests.
Results for the Yorkshire Dales Official Holiday Guide 2007 are available here in two formats. The first document is the full Conversion Research Report, which includes methodologies, results, analysis and conclusions. The second document, Conversion Research Comparison Tables, presents the results for the 2007 research alongside previous years results enabling comparisons to be made.
Holiday Guide Questionnaire Analysis
It’s important to obtain the customer’s perspective on the Holiday Guide as ultimately they are the end user. This is why the Partnership includes a short questionnaire within the annual Holiday Guide. Readers are encouraged to feedback their opinions on the publication and provide suggestions of information that they would like to see in future editions. The questionnaire also provides supplementary information on reader characteristics such as general interests, seasonality of visits and usual visiting group profile.

STEAM Research
This research uses the STEAM (Scarborough Tourism Economic Activity Monitor) model to provide a method of assessing tourism trends across the Partnership area. The report, produced by Global Tourism Solutions Ltd, includes statistics on total revenue, expenditure by sector and tourist numbers.
The Partnership has produced a range of summary documents which highlight the headline figures for each district.
