Yorkshire Tourist Board has an unrivalled track record in successfully marketing Yorkshire as a ‘must see’ tourism destination.
As the region’s official tourism agency our mission statement is ‘'Passionate about Yorkshire, even more passionate about marketing it’.
One of our main priorities is to work closely with everyone involved in tourism across the region. Our aim is to boost your business through professional and targeted marketed activity that delivers real and measurable results.
Our continuing success story
Our innovative and creative approach to marketing Yorkshire as a premier tourist destination continues to deliver outstanding results:
- Substantial financial backing from the region’s development agency, Yorkshire Forward, enabled the development of our extremely successful marketing and PR campaign ‘Make Yorkshire Yours’. This highly creative TV, press, direct mail and online marketing campaign brought tourism worth £42.9 million to the region – with many people visiting Yorkshire for the first time. The campaign achieved a 15:1 return on our financial investment.
- A second ‘Make Yorkshire Yours’ campaign was launched in 2007, again supported by Yorkshire Forward. An exciting and highly effective mix of TV, press, direct mail, PR and online publicity and marketing further raised Yorkshire’s profile as a leading tourist destination and again resulted in substantially increased visitor numbers.
- Our professional PR practitioners continue to grab the headlines for Yorkshire with original, innovative and results-driven campaigns, providing invaluable support for our consumer and business marketing activity. In 2005/2006, media coverage worth over £4.2 million was achieved.
